All About Cleanroom Furniture

Cleanroom furniture is furniture that has been designed to be non-particulating and easily cleaned. Materials like cloth, paper, cardboard, and wood are never used in cleanroom furniture.

A cleanroom gown room often include cleanroom furniture such as:

  • metal gown racks where workers hang up their cleanroom jackets or bunny suits
  • stainless steel cleanroom bench where workers put on their booties
  • metal racks with plastic bins where new cleanroom jackets, hoods, gloves, booties, goggles and masks are stored
  • trash cans used for disposal of used cleanroom garments
  • cleanroom mirrors so workers can check their cleanroom garbing is complete
  • hand free stainless steel cleanroom sinks for workers to wash hands prior to entering cleanroom

Common furniture found in the main cleanroom are:

  • stainless steel cleanroom tables (for easy cleaning)
    • Optional perforated table-tops to allow air to flow thru table
  • cleanroom rolling chairs (designed to be easily cleaned and non particulating)
  • cleanroom cabinets so loose items can be stored away when not in use (makes weekly or daily wipe down easier)
  • cleanroom trash cans
  • cleanroom laminar flow hoods for especially sensitive operations
  • cleanroom chemical benches
  • cleanroom isolation tables for vibration sensitive cleanroom operations
    • photolithography
    • chip testing
    • laser testing/research
  • Eyewash stations – when chemicals are used
  • Cleanroom telephones – designed for hands free usage
  • Cleanroom ovens – plumbed with special filtered air or gases to prevent introducing particulates into cleanroom
  • Cleanroom carts – stainless steel, never taken out of cleanroom
